Salesman and Bill GatesA salesman is meeting an important client at an airport for a sales meeting.The salesman gets to the Airline's Elite Club a little before the meeting, and as he's walking through, he sees Bill Gates sitting by himself near a window, working on his laptop. The man goes over to him, and excitedly introduces himself. The Microsoft Chairman looks up, and they exchange a pleasant greeting. The salesman then gets a great idea: "I'm meeting a client here in a couple of minutes, right over there, it would really impress him if you could just stop by and say hello to me as you're on your way out, as if we're old friends. It won't take but a moment. Would you do that?" The MS chairman says "Yeah, sure." He'll do it. The man goes back and sits down, his client arrives, and Bill gives them a few minutes, then walks over. Warmly clasping his hand on the salesman's shoulder, Bill says, "Hi Rick, good to see you again, we'll have to have lunch next time I'm in town." Without turning around, or looking up, the salesman replies "*%*#@! off Gates. Can't you see I'm in a meeting?" |
